“MAREMMA” ITINERARY

A unique feature of the Maremma is the variety of its territory: crystalline sea, long beaches or rugged rocks, lake and flat areas, green cultivated hills and natural thermal areas. The Etruscans and later the Romans left their footsteps on this part of Tuscany, as demonstrated by the Etruscan cities of Populonia and Roselle.
Later the Ardobrandeschi reigned, which built towers, castles and fortified villages such as Santa Fiora and Sovana.
The Maremma also offers countless sandy seaside resorts, such as Castiglione della Pescaia and the Uccellina Natural Park in Orbetello, and rocky, like Talamone, Isola del Giglio and Monte Argentario. But it is not just culture and landscape, the Maremma is also an area full of typical products to taste. In fact, the sea, hills and mountains blend perfectly in typical dishes, a perfect example is the acquacotta.
