ItalianoEROICA MONTALCINO
It is official: after that, historical, of Gaiole in Chianti, comes a second permanent route for L'Eroica and will have the name of Montalcino. Eroica Montalcino is a cyclist on white roads that takes place in the enchanting area of the 209 km route of L'Eroica, south of Siena between Val d'Arbia, Val d'Orcia and the Crete Senesi. The five routes start from Montalcino and stretch up to Val d'Orcia, passing through Bagno Vignoni, San Quirico d'Orcia, Pienza and the heart of the Crete Senesi with Montisi and Trequanda. The initiative was born above all looking at the environment: the permanent route, exactly as it happened in Gaiole, was created to safeguard and develop the beautiful heritage of dirt roads that are located in this area of the province. The permanent route will touch five municipalities: in addition to ours, also Buonconvento, San Quirico, Pienza and Trequanda. 153 kilometers in total with 3074 meters in altitude. The route, characterized by permanent signs, will be marked by 13 stages, in each municipality there will be "points" with information on the route and the territory.
The routes are 5 and adapt to any type of cyclist, from the most prepared to amateur cyclists:
• The most challenging route develops 153 kilometers through the Val d'Orcia and its UNESCO treasures. True heroics will fall in love with this path! Get ready to sweat and enjoy as much Heroic as you can imagine.

• The 96-kilometer route is not to be underestimated; this route is suitable for trained cyclists who do not get scared in front of the climbs.
Difference in height: 1850 mt.
• The 70-kilometer route is suitable for those who want to start discovering the heroicity of a heroic journey on legendary places like Castiglion del Bosco.
Difference in height: 1280 mt
• The 46 kilometer route is suitable for those who do not want to tackle the long route, but who would like to see some of the legendary sections of the long path of L'Eroica, like Castiglion del Bosco.
Difference in height: 870 meters
• The 27Km route was designed to give the possibility to families with children as a result of being able to pedal on our wonderful territory, and discover the wonders of Brunello.
